The "Simian House" Art Museum in Râmnicu Vâlcea, one of the most important cultural and artistic centers in the county, is housed in the building erected by the Simian family in 1940. This superb architectural monument, featuring neoclassical and eclectic influences, is characterized by ornate facades, large windows, and elaborate architectural details.
The Vâlcea County History Museum, established in the 1950s and expanded in 1968, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the historical heritage of Vâlcea County. Visitors can enjoy a captivating journey through the region's past, from prehistory to the modern and contemporary eras.
The Museum of Archaeology and Religious Art "Father Gheorghe Petre - Govora" was established in 1974, featuring archaeological pieces, icons, and old books collected by the figure after whom it is named. Father Gheorghe Petre was a significant personality in the region, known for his cultural and religious work, and he also conducted numerous archaeological excavations in Vâlcea County in collaboration with several specialists.
The Museum of Vine and Wine is dedicated to the winemaking tradition of the Drăgășani region, one of the oldest and most renowned viticultural areas in the country. The museum's permanent exhibition aims to showcase the evolution of vine cultivation and wine production in the region, from ancient times to the present.
